What is Beer Book Club (BBC)?

This is a great opportunity to hang out with friends, taste some beer, enjoy yourself, and celebrate Mike. It’s a semi-guided, pot luck beer tasting where we all learn a thing or two about a thing or two! Here’s how it works.

• You bring some beer that fits the theme

  • How much beer? Enough to share with the group…6ish generally does it, but if it’s something nice and comes in a 4 pack, that’s fine. If it’s something that comes in a 22oz bottle, that’s cool too (maybe consider 2). If it’s something exquisite that comes in a single 11.2 oz bottle, that’s fine as long as I get to taste some 😊. Remember, sharing is caring!

• Everyone brings beer in this theme and we try to try them all

• I’ll provide some snacks, but if you’re in the mood for anything specific, bring it!

  • If anyone wants to bring a cake, we can do that too. If everyone brings a cake…well that’ll be a challenge, wouldn’t it!

• I’ll have a tasting notebook, feel free to bring/start yours

• I’ll provide some beer tasting notes, we’ll all pretend these are super insightful

The theme: Summer Sip

This BBC theme is “Birthday.” So bring your best ‘birthday’ themed beer. If you don’t know what that means, that’s fine. Bring a beer that you had on your birthday, bring a beer you think Mike will like, bring a beer that has “birthday” in the name, bring a beer that has ‘celebration’ as a theme (just don’t bring “Celebration IPA” from Sierra Nevada, that’s wayyyy out of season), bring a beer that has a naked dude from Quebec on it called “Costume D'anniversaire,” bring 8 beers that spell out B.I.R.T.H.D.A.Y, or bring a random beer and an excuse about why that is birthday themed . Have fun with it.

Only rule: please nothing from beer sales. Second ‘only rule:’ bring what you like and, when in doubt, make up an excuse as to why it fits the theme.

The logistics

This event will be hosted at my apartment, address in the event details. Street parking is fine, but limited. Uber/carpool may be the way to go, especially if you want to drink beverages. Apartment is shoes off.
